I just started using them but have caught a number of different fish with them already. the best fish i caught was a thirty pound bull dolphin that took about twenty minutes to reel in.
to many have had such great action by the baits. I guess it would be when other people are around and they are getting anything hitting and I always do.
nantucket, block island, cape cod......you've seen the photos....if the fish are there the hogys out fishes all other lures 95% of the time....
Trolling for Tarpon in Costa Rica, the guide told me that they wouldn’t bite the hogy lure. He said they only liked fresh bait's, I trolled it anyway and landed a #160 Tarpon.
TROLLED LAST WINTER FOR SEE BASS WITH BLACK RUBBER HOGY ON UMBRELLA RIG HAD 5 KEEPERS OTHER RID WITH SHAD DID NOT GET ANY HITS. THANKS.
Trolling the Washington canyon out of OCMD I watched a white marlin inhale your 10in pink hogy with a purple islander tracker on top of it. The next trip we caught a dozen yellowfins, a pair of wahoos and a hand full of dolphins in 30 fathoms behind the hotdog lump mostly on islander hogy combos. Cant wait to try them on the WWB for big bluefins.
Well I've caught so many tunas on them but my best hogy story is the next one if yaw know what I mean...
