Product Feature: Hogy® Drop Shot Rig | Tired of missing fish in deep water
while using 3-way rigs or hi-lo rigs? Here's the solution!
Originating in Japan, "drop shotting"
first arrived in the United States on the West Coast, and made quite a splash
in the largemouth bass scene. Over the last few years "Drop Shotting"
has become popular in many freshwater bass fishing scenarios but it is largely
under-utilized in salt water.
The Hogy® Drop Shot Rig changes all
that! Read more...

Big Soft Baits for Big Water: Time for Tuna, Billfish, Wahoo, & Mahi
|
Though soft baits are most commonly associated
with inshore casting baits, they very much have an effective spot in your
arsenal offshore. Their soft, fluid action presents an extremely lifelike
action that I argue is even more natural than rigged dead-bait. Don't forget
that mother-nature builds in the action to a real baitfish. Soft-baits are
ergonomically designed to swim as they pull through the waters.

Destination: The Elizabeth Islands, Cape Cod - Big Soft Baits for Big Bass
|
By Capt. Mike Hogan
The fantastic striper fishing along rocky shorelines of The Elizabeth
Islands has lured anglers from both close and a far for literally centuries.
Cuttyhunk, the Western most island of the chain, was once home to The Cuttyhunk
Bass Club, an elite bassing club in the 1800s with an impressive history of
trophy sized fish and members even included the likes of Theodore Roosevelt.
Though Cuttyhunk receives the most notoriety amongst striper anglers, the
entire chain of the Elizabeths is a very fishy
place. Each year numbers of 40-50 even
60lb fish are taken along the rocky shores.

Fine Tuning Soft Plastic Techniques:
Some Things I Learned (And Relearned) This Fishing Season
|
|
by Gene Bourque
"Practice what you preach!" I wonder where that old saw came
from? An admonishment to some long forgotten man of the cloth by one of his
parishioners after straying from one of the Commandments, maybe? We'll never
know but those are certainly words to live by when it comes to fishing
methodology.

Blackfin
on the Hump |
by Elliott Stark
When Matt Mathews called to ask me if I wanted fish with he
and his wife Loren off of Islamorada out of Bud n Mary's Marina,
my answer was immediate, "Let's do it."
It had been nearly two years since we had fished together on the
Statesboro Blues, his 27 foot Boston Whaler.
As we caught up and talked stories of sea creatures previously pulled
from beneath floating pallets, I told him about the lure I recently purchased
which had proven effective on a recent cobia trip-the Hogy.
